We choose our partners and supply chain carefully in order to provide the best products to our demanding users whilst having the biggest environmental impact.
Looking to the future, we want to be able to offer a take back programme.
Use your Mocean Fitness wear for as long as you need, then simply post it back to us so we can put them back into the system to recycle further and create more new items. It’s not there yet, but our supply chain is working on it.
Healthy Seas was founded in 2013 to tackle the ghost fishing phenomenon that is responsible for the needless death of marine animals.
Every year some 640,000 tons of fishing gear are left in the seas and oceans.
Through cleanups with volunteer divers and by working with stakeholders of the fishing sector toward marine litter prevention, Healthy Seas collects waste nets and ensures they become a valuable resource.
As part of our partnership Mocean Fitness will donate at least 1% of every sale to Healthy Seas to help fund the recovery of ghost fishing nets and further Healthy Seas initiatives.
ECONYL® regenerated nylon is made entirely from regenerated waste that would otherwise pollute our Earth including industrial waste, fabric scraps, old carpet, recovered fishing nets and others.
We choose ECONYL® Regenerated Nylon because it is infinitely recyclable. It’s exactly the same as brand new nylon and can be recycled, recreated and remoulded again and again. And to create it is so much better for the environment than to create standard nylon.
(For every 10,000 tonnes of ECONYL® produced) 70,000 barrels of crude oil is saved and 65,100 tonnes of CO2 emissions are avoided. – That’s roughly the equivalent of keeping a commercial plane in the air for 26,000 days solid.
As well as being a solution on waste, ECONYL® regenerated nylon is also better when it comes to climate change.
It reduces the global warming impact of nylon by up to 90% compared with the material from oil.
REPREVE®, by Unifi, is a high-quality recycled polyester made from recycled plastic bottles diverted from landfills and oceans and sourced across the globe in partnership with communities and Material Recovery Facilities (MRFs). To date, REPREVE® have recycled over 24 BILLION plastic bottles.
REPREVE® is Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified, the world’s leading label for textiles screened, meaning it has been tested for and is free from over 100 harmful chemicals and has Global Recycled Standard certification.
REPREVE® is the number one, branded recycled fibre in the world. Transparent. Traceable. Certified.
